Johannes Fabian of the University of Amsterdam presented a paper entitled Memory/Counter-Memory, Collection/Dispersal: Some Ethnography-Driven Reflections.

Crain Soudien of the University of Cape Town chaired the first session ("Commemoration and Collection") on the second day of the conference. Crain is also a member of the Institutions of Public Culture Cape Town Committee.

Betsy Quick of the UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural History, made a presentation entitled "Take-Away" Documents: Cultivating Meaning-Making in the Museum.
